My Third Month’s Earnings on Mediavine Journey [November 2024]
Damn, Big Body! Back at it again with the white vans and another Mediavine Journey income report.
First, if you’re curious about my first two months on Mediavine’s newest ad management solution/product (Mediavine Journey), make sure to read Part 1 and Part 2.
Part 1 breaks down all of the important terms that are used to understand ad network earnings along with some key features of the Mediavine Journey dashboard. Make sure to reference that post if anything doesn’t make sense below.
Once again, to keep things concise – here is exactly how much my travel blog made for the month of November on Mediavine Journey.
Hint: I’m still eating canned beans and most of my socks have holes in them.
November 2024 Mediavine Journey Earnings
There it is…in all its glory. My November 2024 Mediavine Journey earnings.
A grand total of $55.12.
This is a roughly $15 increase from October 2024.
I just booked a flight home to New Hampshire for nearly 2 months (from December 2024 to February 2025), and am incredibly excited to put that extra $15 toward another Chipotle burrito.
As you can see, sessions increased by roughly 1,000, from 8,100 to 9,000, and pageviews increased from 9,500 to 10,600. I’m still over 40,000 sessions away from qualifying for Mediavine’s flagship ad network solution but it is always a good feeling to see numbers increasing – as the Lord knows I’ve seen many months of the opposite.
Better yet, my RPM increased from just over $5 to over $6. It may not seem like much at the moment but it feels overall positive that my RPM is still increasing.
It still is drastically lower than I expected and what I am seeing with other travel bloggers earn online but it is what it mothaflippin’ is.
This takes my total earnings (over 3 months) to $123.07.
As you can see, my lifetime RPM is also finally over $5.
I can see things increasing even further, to roughly $7, as the months progress.
But then again, I got a D- in college stats so I’m not particularly great at plotting or analyzing data.
Key Takeaways From Month 3
To be honest, I don’t have any major takeaways from the month or the data, other than I need to just keep writing.
It still has only been really three months of blogging ‘full-time’ and only 2 months of being back publishing a good chunk of content on this blog each month.
I do need to get better at operationalizing and publishing at a better cadence. I also need to continue diversifying and hedging against Google by building out my newsletter and via Pinterest.
I’m finally starting to get a little bit of traction on Pinterest and am just going to keep refining my ‘visual content’ creation skills. Let me know if you’d like to see a post on this in the future!

Hundred Dollar Dreams & Federal Nightmares
Mediavine is on a net-65 payment schedule, meaning that you actually received it 65 days from the end of the month it was earned. So, I still have not yet technically been ‘paid’ for September 2024.
I don’t want these monthly income reports to detract from the overall theme and purpose of this blog – to provide you with actionable, informative travel content.
But I do think they are a nice little switch-up to things.
Hopefully, these quick posts provide somewhat of a realistic starting point for you in your blogging journey of what you can expect.
No two blogs and earnings are alike but it should serve as a reference point to help temper your expectations – at least for those in the travel blogging space.
If you have any questions about creating and/or scaling a travel blog, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at info@palealetravel.com. I make sure to respond to everyone and will aim to get back to you as soon as possible!
Write well everyone,

Big Body is a voracious lov…eater, a cowardly fighter, and a self-proclaimed curry goat BBQ-eating champion (don’t forget the donkey milk) who likes Stoicism, baseball, and writing in the third person. Having worked for himself for the last 7 years, he isn’t particularly successful but he does still drink ice-cold Sapporo draft beers with the best of them and knows his way around a Dai Pai Dong or two. He is based in Hong Kong but you can still find him in Saigon, Osaka, and Vienna for extended periods.
